Join young adults (18-39) throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis to pray for an end to abortion and promote a greater respect for all human life. This annual Archdiocesan event, co-sponsored by Anima Christi, Salt + Light, and the Respect Life Apostolate, will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.
The evening will begin with a Gospel of Life reflection by Jamie LaBelle, Catholic wife, adoptive mother, and Archdiocesan staff member. Jamie is employed by both the Respect Life Apostolate and Office of Peace & Justice. After her reflection, Eucharistic Adoration, the Holy Rosary, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered. A dessert social will then follow in Boland Hall. For more information, contact prolife@archstl.org or 314.792.7555.
On a cold wintry afternoon, this past Thursday thirty-five CPOP student-athletes participated in a basketball free throw event. The competition was intense within all eight age brackets. The winners were awarded a KofC embossed basketball and will have the opportunity to compete in the upcoming regional challenge. In no particular order, the winners were: Charlie Pohl, Will McKelvey, Olivia Ravas, Rory Govern, John Malen, Zoe Callahan, Christian Khazen, and Patrick Ramella. All of our participants enjoyed post-game snacks and drinks and of course a fun social afternoon with their friends and classmates. Thanks to everyone involved in making this event happen.
Wednesday, January 22, the Church in the United States observes the annual “Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children”. This day is set aside for the legal protection of human life and to do penance for the violations to human dignity through abortion. We are called to observe this day through prayer and penance.
Please join fellow parishioners to pray the Rosary of the Unborn following the 8am Mass on Wednesday January 22.
Join the Respect Life Apostolate of the Archdiocese of St. Louis for the 2025 Roe v. Wade Memorial Mass to ask God to end abortion in Missouri and the U.S., honor those lost to abortion, pray for those wounded by abortion in need of healing, and commit to building a “culture of life and love” (Evangelium Vitae).
Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 at the Cathedral Basilica, the special Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Mark Rivituso and priests of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Mass collection will benefit the LifeLine Coalition, a network of local agencies that directly assist and serve pregnant and parenting mothers and their children.
